CLINICAL INTERESTS
Nutritional and exercise interventions for metabolic diseases including HIV-related metabolic syndrome (HIV-MS, (also called HIV-Lipodystrophy), Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM); obesity/metabolic syndrome (MS), adult and pediatric skeletal and cardiomyopathy (e.g. Barth Syndrome) and in pregnancy.RESEARCH INTERESTS
Mechanisms and treatments (nutritional/exercise/pharmaceutical) for whole body and myocardial substrate (e.g. amino acid, glucose, fatty acid) metabolism abnormalities in metabolic diseases such as HIV-MS, T2DM, obesity/MS and adult and pediatric skeletal and cardiomyopathy (e.g.. Barth Syndrome). I am also interested in the effect of nutrient metabolism during pregnancy on in utero development and childhood metabolic disease.REPRESENTATIVE PUBLICATIONS
