Nemours Children’s Health, Milford is hiring a Full-Time, Pediatric Physical Therapist to work in Milford, Delaware.
**$5,000 Sign on Bonus offered (external applicants only)
This is a great opportunity to grow your career and join a dynamic team in our new multi-disciplinary clinic shared with Nemours Specialty and Primary Care. We provide evaluation and treatment for patients with a wide variety of diagnoses including post-op, sports injuries, and neurodevelopmental disorders, and ranging in age from birth to 18. We are also an early intervention partner with Birth to Three program, providing clinic-based services.
Provides physical therapy patient examination, evaluation, intervention, documentation, parent/caregiver education, communication and coordination of care with medical/clinical staff and outside agencies as appropriate within the guidelines designated by the department and the Delaware Valley policies and procedures. Actively participates in departmental education activities in order to expand knowledge of patient populations and evidence-based practice.
Maintains core competencies and any additional competencies determined to be necessary by the management team to ensure patient care needs are met.
Essential Functions
Demonstrates proficiency in the care of all ages: pediatrics, adolescents, and adults.
Able to provide physical therapy services to a variety of patient types with recognition of his/her own limitations while seeking appropriate mentorship as needed.
Completes timely documentation as required by departmental policy #7980.3.3, Joint Commission, and CARF standards.
Attends meetings related to patient treatment and contributes to discussion as an interdisciplinary team member.
Consults with other services, families, and outside agencies to recommend durable medical equipment, home/school modifications and transitional therapy program prior to discharge from therapy.
Maintains knowledge of and familiarity with insurance referral/authorization process and documentation requirements related to therapy services.
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree required. DPT is entry level.
Minimum of 3-6 months experience required. New graduates will be considered based on educational experiences.
State of Delaware Physical Therapist License required upon hire.
Must submit State of Maryland Physical Therapist License or proof of application submission within 2 weeks of job acceptance, but this second license is not required to be active at the start of employment. (Dual licensure required – DE and MD).
American Heart Association BLS Certification Basic Life Support required within 6 months of date of hire and must be maintained for duration of employment.
Member of professional specialty organizations (APTA, State PT Assoc.) preferred.

About the Team
At Nemours, we’ve developed a large, expansive network of rehabilitation professionals (including physical, occupational and speech therapists, audiologists and rehabilitation engineers) who work to help children and teens move through all phases of recovery — from acute injury and developmental needs to wellness programming.
We use an integrated approach to care, starting with our strong partnerships with Nemours’ primary care and physician specialists.
The Therapeutic & Rehabilitative Services department offers:
