Scholarships
The Program in Physical Therapy annually allocates scholarships valued at over $600,000. These scholarships encompass a variety of categories, including:
Half-Tuition Scholarships: We offer two half-tuition scholarships per cohort, a substantial financial benefit for recipients. This award is for students who demonstrate experience overcoming challenges and covers half the cost of tuition for the entire degree.
Named Scholarships: Numerous scholarships, ranging from $2,500 to $5,000, have been established to honor distinguished individuals or organizations. These scholarships are awarded based on merit and individual qualifications. Named scholarships are awarded to incoming students as well as second-year and third-year DPT students in the Program.
Merit and Need-Based Scholarships: Our program provides a range of merit and need-based scholarships, with values ranging from $3,000 to $10,000. These scholarships take into account both academic accomplishments and demonstrated financial need. Merit and need-based scholarships are granted to incoming students, as well as to second-year and third-year DPT students within the Program.
- Merit-based scholarships are awarded annually to exceptional applicants, taking into consideration their personal and academic achievements. To be eligible for these awards, prospective Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) students must submit their applications via PTCAS by the December 1 deadline.
- Need-based financial aid is also available to U.S. citizens or permanent residents. This financial aid comprises both scholarships and loans, aimed at assisting eligible students in achieving their educational goals.
It’s important to note that scholarship availability and amounts may vary from year to year, and applicants are encouraged to stay updated on current offerings.
Furthermore, applicants have the opportunity to enhance their scholarship prospects by submitting essays as part of their application. These essays serve as a basis for awarding additional scholarships and should be completed with care.
We strongly encourage all applicants to complete all components within their application. All aspects of the applicant file play a vital role in the scholarship awarding process. Additionally, please be aware of the December 1 deadline for certain scholarship awards. Scholarship opportunities for second-year and third-year DPT students are communicated in June each year.
For further information about the scholarships we offer, including application details and specific scholarship opportunities, applicants can refer to the admittance packet provided by our program. We are committed to supporting the aspirations of our future DPT students through various scholarship opportunities
Assistantships
In addition to the scholarships above, we offer competitive research assistantship positions developed to provide students with valuable research and professional experience while helping to cover educational expenses.
