4:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m.
Virtual

The Sahrmann Lectureship will be held on Friday, October 1st  at 4:00-5:00 PM (Virtual). Dr. Richard Souza PT, PhD will be the guest speaker presenting the lecture titled “Quantitative Imaging as a Tool to Understand Lower Extremity Biomechanics.”

Dr. Richard Souza is a physical therapist and biomechanist, currently serving as Vice-Chair for Research in the Department of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Science at UCSF. His research interests are focused on the relationships between mechanics of human movement and lower extremity injuries and diseases. Much of his research combines advanced quantitative MR imaging and the evaluation of physical activity and loading behaviors. The goal of these studies is to determine the influence of loading mechanics on hip, knee, and ankle health and to develop preventative and rehabilitative strategies for debilitating diseases such as osteoarthritis.
