Overview
Our therapists are experts in managing post-surgical rehabilitation, guiding your care based on your surgery, and individualizing your treatment plan according to your limitations. Physical therapy is recommended pre- and post-surgery to maximize outcomes. You will receive exercises to perform at home to optimize your movement prior to surgery. After surgery, the goal is to return you to your prior level of physical function. This includes successful return to work, recreational activities, and/or competitive sports.

- Closely monitor your progress according to your physician’s guidelines
- Monitor your individualized response to physical therapy
- Therapist collaboration with your surgeon to determine the best plan for you.
Our Approach:
Our unique approach to movement analysis allows us to successfully treat complex impairments and issues previously resistant to treatment. Our therapists will prescribe an individualized therapeutic exercise program to address the factors contributing to your symptoms and optimize your movement. During each appointment, your clinician will work closely with you to implement the most effective treatment plan.
Every WashU Medicine physical therapist in our practice holds a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree, and many have board-specialist certifications in specific areas of practice. Our clinicians are trusted experts in evaluating and treating movement impairments commonly associated with injuries.
